By: Big Wave PR

The Suffolk Coast, launched a campaign to encourage visitors to gather with friends and family, enjoy time to roam under big skies, reset, and feast on local produce.

'Gather' invites Gen Z to enjoy Suffolk Coast

The campaign, ‘Gather in Suffolk’, highlights Suffolk’s natural beauty, local food and drink, plus stunning wellness retreats.

Jess Brown, Manager, The Suffolk Coast, explains: “This campaign is all about reconnecting, getting together, embracing nature to restore bodies and minds. We’re focusing on Gen Z’s, a group that are increasingly finding themselves isolated and lonely. We want to showcase the beautiful places where people can gather their loved ones and enjoy a restorative break.”

Latest figures reveal that London has become the loneliest city in the world with 55% of Londoners feeling lonely (1). The Gen Z generation is 74% (2) more likely to travel to reconnect, as part of a wider need for human connection.

The Gather in Suffolk campaign

Visitors are invited to get together and explore East Suffolk’s magnificent coastline, rugged heathlands and tranquil woodlands.

Foodies are also invited to explore the fish shacks on the beach, artisan bread makers, and tasty local produce. Visitors can enjoy masterclasses in anything from sourdough making to how to shuck an oyster. There are also distilleries and breweries to tour, such as Adnams of Southwold, or forage for botanicals on a ramble by the river with Fishers in Aldeburgh. Ale lovers can also take in a brewery tour at St Peter’s Hall and Brewery in Bungay.

After a day roaming East Suffolk’s coast and thriving market towns, there’s a number of very special countryside getaways to choose from:

  • Restaries is a luxury farmstead on the Suffolk–Norfolk border, offering refined accommodation. Set on ‘Paradise Farm’ within 10 acres of land, the stay features farm animals, a swimming pool, children’s play area, woodland, beauty treatments and yoga space. It’s a very special place to rest awhile and reset. Restaries sleeps 2 – 26 over a variety of properties.
  • Disconnect and renew at Upper Grove Farm near Yoxford. Stay in a bespoke cabin set in a five acre paddock. Choose a cabin with an outdoor roll-topped bath, or wood fired hot tub and rain shower. In the summer months wander through their meadow, alive with wildflowers and listen to the buzzing of bees. The stay is designed for peace and quiet in mind.
  • Or escape in nature to Wildlands near Woodbridge. Wildlands offer a range of boutique, sustainably built stays. Ground yourself in nature exploring their wild meadows, woodlands, streams and ponds. It’s a place to press pause, a wild and restorative sanctuary. Visitors can embrace their playful side by gathering around the open fire for story-telling and stargazing. Wind down and rediscover a slower pace of life with their healing treatments and therapies to restore body and spirit.

Explore the beautiful surrounds of East Suffolk as part of a restorative break. Enjoy the great outdoors, go cold water swimming before warming up in a toasty sauna. Here are some special locations:

  • Secret Sauna: Hidden away on the banks of the river Waveney, near Bungay, is a prettily perched wood-fired sauna. Off-grid and snuggled in the woods, Secret Sauna can only be reached on foot or by river. This very special private place is  available for private group bookings for 2-8 people.
  • The Suffolk Sauna: Set in the historic village of Dunwich, the horsebox sauna sits just a stone’s throw from the waves. Where heathland meets sea – the handcrafted sauna offers a unique way to experience the elements. Step inside, shake off the sea-breeze, and let the heat work its magic.
