The Essex Violence and Vulnerability Unit (VVU) is a partnership that aims to keep young people, their families and communities safe from crime, exploitation and serious violence. The VVU offers funding to organisations across Essex who support vulnerable children and young people.
The brief: “We are releasing a new round of funding and we need help to promote this to organisations across Essex. We want to showcase how previous funds have helped vulnerable children and young people.”
Implementation
The VVU enable amazing projects across the county to thrive. Communities gain support to run youth clubs, counselling services and engaging activities.
Our team took the time to get to know each project and its team. We gathered stories from the projects which had been run across Essex. Community groups shared content about their young people’s experiences and benefits from each project. Each project was inspiring and unique in its own way. We also sourced photography from some of the projects to illustrate the impact of their work.
A series of media releases were drafted and strategically shared to local and regional press across the county. We also set-up interviews with local and countywide radio stations to further amplify the VVU’s message.
Impact
Big Wave PR has worked with the Essex VVU on an ad hoc basis from 2023 and delivered some outstanding results.
